This is an ornament, or a jar topper! Knit up the unique design in 5 points, sew together, then add ribbon trims, or hang on Christmas tree as is. These work up really fast, so you can make a lot of them for jar toppers. They would be very cute over the top on a pint size canning jar, filled with homemade candies, then add star topper, ribbon bow, and you have a great gift! Finished star is 5 by 5 for ornament, 7 by 7 for jar topper. Uses crochet thread and US # 5 needles for ornament, and for jar topper, use sport weight yarn, US # 10.5 needles.
